Thank you.

Hello Predictable Revenue community,

Launching a book is weird.

There’s no gong that rings, no website to go live, no cheering crowd. It was a normal day that started and ended just like any other Tuesday. I was hoping to at least end the day with some new superpower but alas, I’m still a regular human. Except now I’ve published a book, which is pretty neat.

I’ve been pushing pretty hard to get the word out as much as I can and don’t have anything interesting to say today so I’ll keep it short.

Thank you to everyone that supported me along the way, whether you pre-ordered the book, replied to an email, or forwarded one of my emails to a friend. Thank you.

To show my thanks, I wrote a janky python script to pull out the first name and last initial of all the folks that replied with a helpful comment and I’ve added your name to the end of the book. The cutoff date to send to the printers was sometime back in April or May so apologies if you didn’t make the cut, I’ll get you if I do another one.

I started this newsletter to hone my writing skills and build up an audience for the book but I kept doing it because of all of you who replied to say that an email had helped them get through a tough time or encouraged you to give it another try.

I’m planning on doing a follow up post on the economics of writing a book once I have better sales date. But, if you’re curious, we ended with ~260 pre-orders in the US and Canada. They don’t share international numbers until after the launch but I know there are a large number of you. A total of 883 books “shipped to market” but I have no idea what that means. I’m told I’ll have proper sales numbers by next Friday so it might be a few weeks before I finish the full write up.

So here’s to you. If you’re a founder, I wrote this book for you. I hope it helps you as much as the writing process helped me.

Cheers. I’m going to go pour myself a celebratory beer*.

Collin

PS - *I’m writing this Thursday night, just in case you thought I was going to start drinking at 10am.

PPS - a huge thank you to the folks that have submitted reviews already. Here are a few that I’ve seen so far:

PPPS - Mine showed up late Tuesday night, despite me being the first to order it. I thought that was at least a little rude 😂
